A beacon of light is how many described her. Her smile was infectious, her heart kind, and her faith in Jesus unwavering. She was kind to everyone, and her joy and compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Doris graduated from Adamson High School in 1947 and married Joe, the love of her life, in December 1947. She later completed business college. She worked at Bell South for over a decade, spent cherished years as a stay-at-home mom, and later, worked at Truck Insurance Specialists.
She and Joe were happily married for almost 60 years until his death.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Doris shared her love freely and often. She faced several major health challenges with grace and gratitude, never complaining. Her strength, loyalty, and deep love for her family and friends created lifelong bonds and cherished memories.
She was a lifetime member of the Methodist church, attending Wesley, St. Andrews, Tyler Street, and most recently First United Methodist Church of Coppell, where she remained deeply connected.
Doris lived a life of integrity, warmth, and faith. She often said, “When I get to heaven, I just want to hear the Lord say, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant’.” Those who knew her believe she has heard exactly those words. Her work here is done, and she will be greatly missed.
Doris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Rich Bryant; grandson Zac and his wife Katie Carelock; and two great-grandchildren Carson and Camden Carelock. Also surviving her are

Carelock and their son Caden; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and members of her beloved church family.
