Dorothy J. Gregory

Dorothy J. “Dottie” Gregory, 92, passed away peacefully July 15, 2012 at Sandy Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center in Coppell. The younger of two daughters, she was born in Lima, OH, on September 2, 1919, to Pascal Pyle and Marie Cullivan Pyle.

She attended grade school and high school in Indianapolis, IN where she met her future husband and the love of her life, Charles F. Gregory, M.D. whom she married on August 21, 1944. Throughout their married life, they lived in many different locations and made many life-long friends. Dottie was actively involved in her husband’s medical career, participating in leadership positions of various ladies’ auxiliary functions. Greg and Dottie travelled the world together, enjoying every adventure life brought them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 32 years, and her sister Mary Lou Pyle. She is survived by her sons Charles and his wife Kathy of Albuquerque, NM, Michael and his wife Jensy of Irving, TX, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care of Shaleada Buchanan who faithfully tended to Dottie for the past three years. They also wish to thank Brett Moran, M.D. for his care and friendship over the past several years.

Visitation will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 18, from 6 pm to 8 pm. A private graveside service for family members will be held on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to UT Southwestern Medical Foundation.
