

With profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Dorothy Mae Jones, who peacefully entered eternal rest on June 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 4, 1940, Dorothy lived a life defined by love, resilience, hard work, and unwavering devotion to her family. Having celebrated her 86th birthday on June 4, Dorothy was blessed to spend her final days surrounded by those she loved most.
Dorothy spent many decades in Dallas, Texas, where she built a home, raised her family, and created countless cherished memories. She was a dedicated employee of the Dallas Independent School District (DISD), where she faithfully served until her retirement. Through her strong work ethic and determination, she set an example of perseverance, strength, and commitment for all who knew and loved her.
Family was the center of Dorothy's world. She was a loving mother to Debbie Starr (Ricky Starr), Shirley Bowen, Ronnie Jones, Brenda Jones, and Deborah Cooper (Kevin Cooper). She also shared a special bond with her bonus daughter and granddaughter, Tiffany Jones. Dorothy cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She considered herself truly blessed to witness multiple generations of her family grow and flourish, and she loved each of them deeply and unconditionally.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie Jones; her daughter, Sally Mae Wiley; her mother, Annie Mae Wiley; her sister, Eunice; and her brothers, Edward Montgomery and Quincy Montgomery.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, faith, and family that will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, her beloved sister-in-law, Jimmie Jones, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish the lessons she taught, the memories she created, and the love she shared so freely.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, Dorothy's spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, wisdom, and enduring love will continue to guide future generations, and her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.

Visitation will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Dallas, TX 75232, US, on June 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Dallas, TX 75232, US, on June 20, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Burial will follow at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, 8100 Fireside Dr, Dallas, TX 75217, US, on June 20, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
