Dorothy Mae Young Mills, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2016. She was born November 9, 1934 in Galveston, Texas, and later moved to Dallas, Texas and graduated from North Dallas High School and then attended Southern Methodist University. Dorothy worked in school administration for over 20 years retiring from Plano ISD in 2000.
Dorothy was an only child and was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Miers and Mary Nannie Young; and her husband, David Lemuel Mills.
She is survived by four children (and their spouses), David L. Mills, Jr. of Nacogdoches, Texas; Robert Mills of Dallas, Texas; Cindy Mills Giamfortone of Austin, Texas and Chuck Mills of Nevada, Texas. She was proud to be grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dorothy will always be remembered by her family for her love and devotion to them.
Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 at 10:00am, and will be followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00am, all at Grove Hill Funeral Home.
