

Dorothy Lucille (Nichols) Travis 84, passed away January 5, 2011 in Mesquite, TX after a lengthy illness. Born March 20, 1926 in Corsicana, TX to David Edmond Nichols and Eunie Lee (Austin) Nichols, Dorothy was the tenth of thirteen children. She married Thomas Clayton Travis in Corsicana, TX on September 28, 1946. Early in their marriage they moved to Dallas where they owned and operated Travis TV on Inwood Road. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tommy; brothers, Clarence, Lawrence, Earl, Leo and Thurman; sisters, Clara, Cora, Flora and Doris Jean. She is survived by her son, Ronald David Travis and his wife, Carol Ann of Mesquite, TX; grandson, Ronald David Travis II; great-grandson, Ryker Travis of Houston, TX; brothers, Henry Nichols of Lake Livingston, TX and Paul Nichols of Waxahachie, TX; sister, Cleo Boone of Corsicana, TX; a host of nieces and nephews. A special thanks goes to her niece, Sondra June Wilson for all her care and support. Dorothy will be missed by her family and many friends. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011, followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dennis Hochgraber officiating. Interment : Grove Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers: James Gilbreath, Chas Nichols, David Nichols, Kenny Smith, Larry Wilson and Matt Watson.
