Wayne Ligon, died peacefully on April 12 after a battle with cancer. He was born on January 28, 1932 in Wichita Falls and was preceded in death by his parents and son, Bill. He graduated from SMU, where he lettered in football. After graduating from UT Southwestern, he enjoyed 50 years of practicing medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane Vanderpool Ligon. He is also survived by son, Lee Ligon and wife Davette; daughter, Jenni Ligon Lamoreaux and husband Mark; precious grandchildren Molly, Casey, Sam and Leila and his beloved grand-dog, Charlie Lamoreaux.
A visitation will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest on Wednesday, April 15 from 5:00 – 7:00. The memorial service will take place on Thursday, April 16 at 2:00 in the chapel at Sparkman Hillcrest. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the North Texas Food Bank.
