Earl Tessem was born June 9, 1930 to Herman and Edith Tessem in Starbuck, Minnesota. He served in the Minnesota National Guard and the United States Army from 1947 to 1953. Upon graduation from the University of Minnesota, Earl began his career as a geologist with the Texas Oil Company. Earl enjoyed a successful career with several companies in the Oil and Gas Industry for 60 years. Earl was a lifetime member of the American Legion, a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 71, S.I.P.E.S., the Wednesday Old Pros Lunch Group, the Senior All-Star Bowing League and the A.A.P.G. Earl is survived by his beloved companion of 28 years, Mary Miller; his brother Bernie and his wife Mavis; the mother of his children, Jill, son Steve and wife Joanne; daughter Ann and husband Will; son Kurt and wife Sharon; son Ted and wife Denise; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grand children; nieces and nephews; and numerous friends and business associates.
A service to honor Earl’s life will be held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 1210 West Beltline Road, Richardson, Texas 75080 at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013.
A Gathering will be held after the service at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
Earl’s final resting place will be at DFW National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 9:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, the Salvation Army, or the charity of your choice may be made.
