Earle V. Brown passed away peacefully on April 19th in Mesquite, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Mildred Wilson Brown and his brother, Don Brown of Tampa, Florida. Earle is survived by his brother Arden and wife Thelma of Lima, Ohio, son Vincent and wife Carol, son Curtis and wife Barbara, daughter Patricia Hanszen and husband Thomas, son Jim and wife Gail, daughter Christina Henry and husband Matt, daughter Teresa Price and husband Gary, 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Born in Lyons, Nebraska on March 24, 1917, Earle’s early life was on the family farm. Earle was drafted into the Army in 1940 and served in North Africa during WWII. After the Army, he worked at the Lima (Ohio) Locomotive factory. Earle moved his family to Dallas in 1949 and joined the Police Department where he served for 20 years. He was on duty and witnessed the Kennedy assassination and was interviewed by the Warren Commission. After retiring from the Dallas PD, he and his wife moved to Mineola, Texas. Earle was an avid Cowboy fan and season ticket holder for many years. He loved NASCAR and traveled with his son, Vincent, to races across the country. Earle loved cars, but adored women. A Memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, April 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Calvary Hill Funeral Home Chapel.
