He was born on August 25th, 1934 to Richard Paul and Shingo Marie Lemin near Fair Park in South East Dallas. The youngest of five children, he attended St. Edwards parochial school and graduated from Jesuit High School in 1952.
He spent his youth exploring White Rock Lake and especially White Rock Creek. White Rock creek from below the dam as it meandered through Samuel Park and beyond provided endless recreational and fishing possibilities. Early on he developed a love and appreciation for the outdoors and fishing which remained his greatest passions throughout his life.
From the discipline and responsibility of running his own paper route as a young boy he would enter into the printing industry after graduating high school. He worked in various aspects of the industry over the years from Hot Metal, Paste-Up, Photo Composition to Proof Reading. His attention to detail, problem solving skills, and determination to meet deadlines under pressure served him well in this very demanding field.
Any free time he had was spent with his two sons as he introduced them to the beauty of nature and taught them the skills and thrills of fishing. Enjoying the comradery and adventure the grateful boys would spend countless hours with their dad on numerous lakes, rivers, ponds, streams and creeks catching a great many fish throughout the years...having lots of fun along the way and creating wonderful memories.
He and his wife Barbara owned and operated a Child Daycare Center in Quinlan, Tx for many years. His contributions as maintenance man, handyman, contractor, van driver, food and supplies gatherer to name just a few, were invaluable. All while continuing a grueling work schedule in the printing trade.
After a lifetime of hard work he was finally able to retire to his boyhood dream, a home on Lake Fork where enjoyed many happy years with family & friends, fishing and nature.
A good and decent man with an insatiable sense of humor and an infectious laugh passed away peacefully in his sleep April 2nd, 2021. We will miss him dearly!
