I was shocked to read that Ed had died...He will be remembered by so many people as a wonderful man.

Ed and Central Christian Church, his demeanor, spirit and "the voice" were a mainstay.  He loved the church so much.  He had such a reverence about him.  Respect, dignity, passion...a sense of perfection in everything he did.  He created a smile whenever I left him meals:  "Tom...thank you...it was pretty good."

I need to add my name to previous entry.  Sorry, I hit the submit too soon.

I so loved to hear Ed read scripture in church.  Central Christian Church will not be the same without him.  His joy of serving our Lord was visible in everything he did, and he showed us how to live our faith.  Be at peace, my friend.

Ed was a great friend who always inspired the best in every one he met.  My years on the board at Dallas Rep were the best ones for me.  I shall miss him, too.

as a student of his at North Texas, i learned so much from Ed. he was very generous with his praise and so supportive of my work. one of my most exciting experiences was in working with Ed at DRT in Brighton Beach Memoirs. 

but mostly i will miss his charitability, his smile, and his parties!

Thanks Ed, for being such a loving friend. You inspired all of us involved in Westside Players to give our best, what joy came during all of those years! Thanks for the memories

It was my good fortune to work with Ed and Sara in building Dallas Repertory Theater from its inception in a small meeting room at the( then new) North Park Center.  Our first show was "Tom Jones" and Ed's skill at understanding the small details that make a show outstanding was most evident.  Everything hinged on those first ( no budget productions), and Ed was able to inspire all of us to do the almost impossible...so we created DRT !!
Now there would be two little Theaters in Dallas. ..Theater 3 and Dallas Rep! 
And Ed's shows would bring ever so much joy to so many,many people.  ......Eloise Swanson

Ed directed Tony Award winning actress Victoria Clark in what were probably her first professional appearances.  I recall her playing the maid in Born Yesterday starring the late Bob Magruder at the DRT when it was still in the "community roo" prior to moving to the former J.C. Penney auto repair shop.  RIP, Ed.

I can't imagine how my life might have been different without Ed and Dallas Repertory Theatre.  He made a welcoming home for so many of us for so many years.  His impact on the theatre community in the Dallas area simply cannot be overstated.  I will always love my friend Ed and be grateful for all the love and support he gave to me and so many others for so long.  Rest well, "Buddy" -- you earned it.

Ed gave me my very first professional gig in Dallas. He was a precious soul with a heart of gold.

Thanks, Ed, for making me a member of the DRT family. Although you will be missed, we are still going strong.

Ed was a precious soul. I will hold the memory of


him jogging past my home giving me a big smile and  a wave as he passed by and that was before I reallly got to know him better at Christian Central Church. When the Lord calls our loved ones home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange. And what beautiful memories they are of Ed! 
Ed was a special part of so very many lives. Ed left a legacy of so much love!
He will be deeply missed.

Ed was a wonderful man.  He was one of the first to welcome us to Central Christian Church with his warm hospitality.  I will always remember his poetic voice, his kindness, and his joy for living. RIP Ed

Ed let me work beside him at Dallas Repertory Theatre.  I will always be grateful.

What a good, exciting, interesting life he led.  It's hard to let him go.  But it was a life well lived.  Rest in sweet peace, dear friend.

You were indeed a wonderful teacher and mentor to my daughters at Hockaday.They 
have wonderful memories of your school
productions: Brigadoon, Annie Get Your Gun 
and You Can't Take It With You.

Make you to shine like the sun, And hold you in the palm of His hand.

Thank you, good and faithful servant.  We will cherish your friendship always.

He was a great person.  Gave me my first shot at lighting direction in college which ultimately led to over 25 years in show business.  I will never forget him.

God bless you, my friend.  My life is full of memories of you over many decades.  Rest well.

Ed had a way of making every person feel like their contribution was important, essential even, no matter how minor.  His kind and gentle manner immediately put you at ease, and you knew you will in the company of genuine goodness.  When you witnessed him in his element, the theater, you KNEW you were in the company of greatness.  You will be so terribly missed, Ed.

Rest well as the world mourns your passing.  In our thoughts and prayers for a safe journey into the arms of The Lord.  Will love and miss you all the days of my life.
