Frances was born on January 9, 1930 in Omaha, Texas to Travis and Ada Settles. Being the oldest of six siblings, she had many responsibilities even at a very young age. She learned how to be compassionate, nurturing and often told us stories of being like a second mother to her siblings. Rocking the littlest ones when her feet couldn’t even reach the floor was a memory she quite often shared.
She graduated from high school in Omaha and then moved to Dallas to start a career. She was very ambitious, always dressed to impress and enjoyed the finer things in life. Dallas was full of many adventures including meeting the love of her life on a blind date. Joe and Frances joined hands in marriage March 22, 1950 and soon thereafter started their own business, Eversole Roofing Company.
Not only were they building a business they were also building a family. Frances and Joe were blessed with two boys, Danny Joe and David Gene. She lived a long fulfilling life of love, but not without heartache.
She was preceded in death by her parents Travis B and Ada Belle, her husband Joseph Johnson, her sisters Dorthy Jean, Ada Marie, Betty Lorene, and her sons David Gene and Danny Joe.
Some of Mamaws favorite things were dancing, family gatherings, spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren and we will never forget her weekly trips to “Walmart’s”.
Her legacy will continue to live on through her brother Travis, her sister Judy, her grandchildren, Justin and wife Brittnie, Joshua and wife Amanda, and her five great grandchildren, Evan, Kinsley, Adleigh, Jasper and Garrett, as well as many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
