We are blessed to have learned many valuable lessons from Ms. Edna Marie Mason, during her 79 years among us. Her parents, Wesley and Roxie (Miller) Davis, on October 20, 1941, brought into this world a child that would become an inspiration to many. Growing up in Frankston, as the youngest girl of 13 siblings, she was surrounded with enough love and security to fill all the dusty roads and open fields of Frankston County. Although a high school diploma fell out of her reach, she never allowed excuses to hold her hostage. She focused her attention towards helping others and eventually began the work of becoming a healthcare provider as a CNA. Edna was no stranger to hard work as she labored tirelessly each day for those she loved. Her five children, Lawrence Davis, Cynthia (Talbert) Swan, Patricia Mason, LaVonda (Brandon) Vestal, and TeQuila (LJ) Jackson-Hill can attribute their successes to her strong work ethic, support, and spiritual strength.
Edna was transformed by the Holy Spirit and began walking with God after a close encounter with Father. Her steps were ordered in God’s word, she allowed the Good Shepherd to be her guide, and trusted in the Lord fully regardless of what came her way. She was an active member of her church. She served as Church Historian, Sunday School Secretary, and Church Secretary of Finance. She was well loved and developed many relationships as the mother of the church.
Edna spent her days helping others and giving to those that needed her the most. Her generosity overflowed and filled the cups of many. Edna sacrificially gave of her time and resources to anyone that needed a helping hand, a friendly word, or some tough advice.
The bond that she shares with her two surviving sisters, Rubye Steele and Bellzoria Watts, is intertwined beautifully with their love of God and their love for each other. She will be reunited with her parents and nine siblings that preceded her in death.
Edna would like to let you know her work here is done. It is now time for her to take her rest. With 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends, her memory will live on throughout the years in each of our hearts.
