

Beloved father and grandfather, he was born on April 3, 1915 to Katharyn and Edward H. Dickson in Arena, New York. In June of 1950 he married Elizabeth C. Clark in Philadelphia, PA.
He graduated from Margaretville High School (Margaretville, NY) on June 27, 1934 and from Colgate University (Hamilton, NY) in June 1940. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy and served his country during WWII as a Naval Aviator. He served aboard the battleship USS New York (BB 34) in the Atlantic Theatre. In the Pacific Theatre he was Flag Aviator aboard the battleship USS Iowa (BB 61). He retired from the Navy in July of 1955 and joined Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company retiring in 1973. He was an avid golfer, skier and runner. Ed was a long time member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and sang for many years in the choir.
He is predeceased by both parents, wife Elizabeth Clark Dickson and sister Elizabeth Dickson Sanford.
He is survived by: daughter Barbara G. Dickson & her husband Mace M. McCain (of Dallas, TX), son Edward H. (Ned) Dickson, Jr. & his wife Anne Dickson (of Margaretville, NY), and son Steven C. Dickson (of Hobe Sound, FL). He is survived by one granddaughter: Susan E. Dickson and three grandsons: Alexander D. Dickson, Steven C. Dickson and Clark S. Dickson.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home.
Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 11th at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church in the Chapel, 8011 Douglas Ave., Dallas, TX 75225.
Memorial service to be held at a later date at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Margaretville, NY.
