We have lost a true Chritian patriot.  Ed was at the forefront of getting Christians to be good citizens.  We first met through Eddie MaAteer and Chritian Freedom Foundation.  In one of my first campaigns I remember a large group of volunteers meeting at Ed and Donda's to work in Phil Gramm's first run for Congress.  I remember Ed saying the two most important things to discuss were religion and politics ... the first deals with eternity and the second with here and now.  I'm so thankful to have been blessed by his friendship.  He will be missed, but it's comforting to know that He is now with his Savior.  Thank you, Lord, for Ed!

I worked with Mr. Drake at JDP&H for several years.  He was truly a man of passion and character.  One could always depend on Mr. Drake to set a godly example in all he did.  I have thought  of him many times after 
our paths went in different directions.  You have my deepest sympathy and prayers.

My mother (Alice Moore Goodson) was a friend of Ed's at UT and UT Law School,and she always talked about what a wonderful leader and devoted Christian he was.  I remember meeting him years ago when he spoke at Camp El Har where our church was having a family retreat.

My deepest condolences to the Drake family.  You will certainly be in my prayers.

Edward Drake will be remembered for his integrity and passion for the United States of America.  Always ready to assist with the electoral process, Mr. Drake committed himself to good government.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of my Friend Ed Drake.

Ed was an outstanding leader from his profession, politics, church and civic
participation, and a wonderful Family man.

From the Justinian Award to "Outstanding Young Man of Dallas", to "Five Outstanding Young Men" of Texas, he was a true leader who will be missed by his community.
