Edward was born in Beeville, Texas in 1940 and was raised in Corpus Christi. He joined the air force immediately after high school, and served in Okinawa. Being in Okinawa was one of the highlights of his life; he loved every minute of it, especially getting the opportunity to scuba dive on a regular basis.
After returning to Texas, Edward settled in Dallas and raised his family while putting himself through night school at the University of Texas in Arlington and eventually earning his Electrical Engineering degree. He worked at Texas Instruments for approximately 35 years, which he enjoyed immensely. One of his electrical chip designs is included in the permanent archives of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Edward is survived by his wife, Gail Diana Jeffrey; son Darryl Jeffrey, daughter-in-law Shari Jeffrey, grandsons Casey and Cameron Jeffrey; son Rodney Jeffrey; stepdaughter Diana Bland, son-in-law James Bland, granddaughter Paris Bland, stepdaughter Robin Harris and grandsons Ross and Riley Kobrick, stepdaughter Elaine Sibert and son-in-law James Sibert; sister Barbara Williams, niece Dara Williams and nephew Darren Williams; sister-in-law Diana Jeffrey, and nephews Steven, Brian and Michael Jeffrey.
