Edward Price, age 83, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021. He was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, on August 29, 1937. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Virgie Price and his wife, Barbara Price. He is survived by his sister, Bernice and her husband Bill Murphy of Toomsuba, Mississippi. He is also survived by his three children, Eddie Price, Jr., Tracy Price and Ashley Gardner. He also had four step-children, Vicki Anderson, Amber Miller, Craig Goeppinger and Eric Goeppinger. Ed was blessed with six grandchildren, Zachary, Caitlin, Cory, Blake, Annie and Grant. He also had two great-grandchildren, Preston and Grace.
Ed had a long history in the beverage industry, working for Dr. Pepper and Pepsi Cola companies prior to joining Booth, Inc. in sales. He later went on to partner with Gene Hart to form Hart and Price Corporation in 1984, until his passing. Ed loved spending time playing golf, going to see the Dallas Cowboys games, traveling and, most of all, being Dad and Papaw. He loved his family and the special people in his life with everything he had. He was blessed to have Brenda Ray by his side in his later years. Ed was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano. He shared a favorite Bible verse with his grandson, Grant, Phillipians 4:13; “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Funeral service will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest at 10:00 AM on Saturday April, 10. Memorial tributes may be given in his honor to the American Heart Association or to Prestonwood Baptist Church. Ed’s family also extends our love and sincere appreciation to his special caregivers, who became family, Queen Edwards, Charmayne Smith, Anna Kelly, Latasha White, Linda Stubblefield and Florence.
