How I remember Eddie Mann.  It was a beautiful Fall day in November as Eddie, Alan and I were making our way through the parking lot to see the Cowboys play.  Eddie laughingly says, it is time to get a hot dog.  Next thing I see is Eddie intercept a Tailgater's pass; he starts throwing and catching passes and laughing and enjoying the spirit of football with 20 something year olds as if he were their age.  After a few minutes, Eddie with a hotdog in hand, joined Alan and I as we continued our journey to the seating area.  Glimpsing back at the tailgating boys, I clearly remember the joy shared among the group as Eddie had clearly been the highlight of their pregame fun.  I don't remember who won the game that day, but I will never forget Eddie's spirit and youthfulness at 80 something with the young tailgaters.   Alan and Family, I know you will miss him every day and am so sorry for your loss.

Prayers to my lifelong second family, the Mann family. Eddy passed Tuesday at 92. Suddenly, to me, anyway. I fully expected to find him still running the bases after cracking a sweet opposite-way single at JCC.  Janet, Alan, Bonnie, Val, Karen, Linda. You know that we are of the same fiber. Eddy set a demanding, but shining example for you. And he couldn't have been prouder of the outcome. Janet, I was so fortunate to be able to visit with you and Eddy two weeks ago. Bless you. Eddy was a great mentor for me. (Hey, Ed? I finally picked up a couple of pair of shoes.)

Janet,Linda,Valerie,Karen,Bonnie and Alan.I am so sorry for the sadness that you are feeling now. Death of a loved one creates such pain and sadness.From the time I was born our families have always been together. Boy, the stories our parents could tell. Your husband/Dad was a very special man to my family. Our dads loved going to the JCC together and playing aerial tennis. The game will never be the same without them .I have wonderful memories of Eddy.I can tell you'll from person experience that the death of your husband/Dad does not get easier...we get stronger! I wish that I could be there with you'll but I am sending hugs and love to you'll. I can only imagine what my Dad/Mom said to Eddy when they saw him.

Alan, I just lost my Dad a couple of years ago and I miss him every day. But I am comforted by the fact that he had a great fun filled life, with lots of friends and family around him. Although I did not know your Dad, he sounds like he too had a great fun filled life with lots of family and friends and good times to remember. Alan, Your wonderful dad was a fixture in all of our lives growing up at Preston Hollow and through high school. I will hold you and your family in prayer at this difficult time. What a good dad you have had!

My condolences go out to to Alan and his family. I have very fond memories of Mr. Mann.  He was a friend and fan of my fathers and a tremendous fan of the Franklin and Hillcrest teams. Every time we go to or mention Whataburger I think of Eddy Mann as he used to treat our teammates to supper after games.
