

Elijah Sims, Jr. married Betty Joyce Taylor Sims and shared 57 years together. To this union, two sons were born: Elijah III and Tracy, Sr. Elijah attended Lincoln High School in College Station, Texas. He retired from Crum and Forester as a computer operator after 20 years of service.
Washington Chapel in College Station was his home church until he relocated to Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jerry Sims and Dan Sims; and his three sisters: Mae Bird Sims, Katie Waldon and Ruthie Glover. Elijah leaves to cherish his loving memories: his two children Elijah A. Sims III of Dallas, Texas, and Tracy L. Sims of Dallas, Texas; three granddaughters: Annisha Coleman (Gregory Coleman) of Houston, Texas, Cherita Robinson-Miranda of Grand Prairie, Texas, and De’Angela T. Sims of Dallas, Texas; two grandsons, Tracy L. Sims, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and James Farley III of Dallas, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and in-laws. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation for ELIJAH A will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A celebration of life will occur Friday, July 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6300 South R.L., Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A catered reception will occur Friday, July 29, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A committal will occur Friday, July 29, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Laurel Land Mem Park - Dallas, 6300 S. R.L. Thornton Frwy., Dallas, TX 75232.
