Elizabeth was born on September 7, 1992, in Dallas to Gayle (née Burch) and Tom Agnew and grew up in University Park. She attended Highland Park schools and Ursuline Academy. As a child and teenager, she was enthusiastic about dance, especially Irish dance, in which she competed around the country. As an adult, she became a certified dog trainer, where she discovered an immense talent and passion for working with animals, and founded her own business, Aunt Liz’s Pack. She was a fierce advocate for all dogs being treated with love and respect, and had an incredible ability to forge a bond with even the most aggressive dogs. She was just about to celebrate 18 months of sobriety and was active as a sponsor in AA. This year she joined and became involved in Gracehill Church in Lake Highlands. She was taking the lead in forming a new church ministry for the homeless. She also recently began training with the Poiema Foundation to help stop human trafficking.
Elizabeth was fiery and determined, but also generous and fiercely loyal. Her friends knew her as a “warrior woman” and a “dreamer of big dreams.” She was beautiful inside and out. She was sensitive and wanted to please everyone. She was bright and had a remarkable work ethic which amazed everyone around her. She was loved by all as a daughter, sister, and friend.
She is survived by her parents, her brother Tom and sister Annie of Dallas, and grandmother Elizabeth Hanton Agnew of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles, and 10 cousins spread throughout the country, and her many precious friends. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her grandparents Thomas Adams Agnew, Robert Ray Burch, MD, and Lillie Margaret Burch, as well as her uncle Frank de la Houssaye Agnew, all of New Orleans.
