passed on April 3rd, 2019 at 6:10 pm in the comfort of her home at 96 years of age.
Graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School class of 1940, “Bettye” was a member of the Local Garden Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Collin County Historical Society, worked in the Mobile Oil Research Lab, the US Postal service, and the Magnolia “Pegasus” Building.
Betty was married to her life long partner Phil for 76 years, she was an artist, jokester, lady, a nurturing and steadfast mother, a beloved grandmother, and an active great grandmother. Bettye was notoriously lovely, made friendships with everyone she encountered, and loved getting her hair and nails done.
Elizabeth often quoted her favorite bible verse to anyone that would hear “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Bettye is survived by her husband Philip Torti Jr, sister Elaine Simmons, four of her children, Phillip Torti III, Victoria Alanis, Bernice Lorance, John Torti, eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents Herbert Victor and Flora Ladine McDaniel, sister Bernice Greenwell and daughter Teresa Torti.
Funeral Service will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 11th, 2019 at 12pm. Burial will follow at the Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Tx.
