

Elizabeth Watts, age 81 of Dallas, passed away on June 5, 2016 with her loving family at her side. She was born on July 3, 1934 in Dallas, the daughter of Lillian Irene Wilson and Homer Joplin. Elizabeth married Alfred Watts on March 9, 1951 and they celebrated over 65 years of marriage together.
Elizabeth has been a member of the White Rock Church of Christ for over 65 years. She was a devoted Christian mother who will be dearly missed for her loving spirit. Elizabeth’s greatest joy was her family and the time they spent together, including the many trips across the U.S. with her husband in their travel trailer. Her family and friends will miss her greatly and will cherish the many memories they shared.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Alfred; daughter Joanna Owens and husband David; son David Watts and wife Julie; grandchildren Robyn Watts, Jordan Watts, Megan Zimmer and husband William, Emily Owens and fiancé Thomas Wright, and Wesley Owens. In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brother Elmer Joplin and sister Margaret Joplin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8 from 5-8PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Elizabeth’s life will be on Thursday, June 9 at 10AM at the White Rock Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Colony Cemetery in Emory, Texas.
