

Betty Westhoff, 98, of Dallas passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016, at a local Dallas hospital. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her.
She was born in Kansas City, KS on June 26, 1917, to Wade and Lillian Hayward Risser. She was a good student and graduated from Parsons (KS) High School and went on to complete four years of higher education. She married her junior high school, high school and lifetime sweetheart Bill Westhoff on June 28, 1941, in Tyler TX, while he was on his lunch break from work. She was a lifetime homemaker who maintained an immaculate and stable home for her family. She loved to raise flowers, especially African Violets, in her spare time. She loved sports especially when her sons were playing. She loved to listen to music especially when Bill was singing.
Survivors include her sons William Gary Westhoff and his wife Marsha of Prosper, TX, and Michael Dean Westhoff and his wife Joan of Plano, TX. Gary's children are Jennifer and Patrick Knapp, Jeffrey Westhoff, Cathrine and Rocky Loerch, Holly Adams and Tammy and Nathan Hess plus fourteen grandchildren and Michael's children are Kristin Westhoff, Heather and Derek Davis and Bill Westhoff plus seven grandchildren. Survivors also include numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years William Joseph Westhoff in August of 2012, along with her five brothers and sisters.
A Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to "Greater Dallas Alzheimer's Association", 3001 Knox Street, Suite 200, Dallas, TX 75205. Note as "Team Edgemere".
