Ellen was survived by her daughters Della Chapman of Gilmer, TX and Ada Chapman-Burris & Jimmy Horton of Athens, TX. Step children Jan Chapman Cody of Forney, TX. Robert Lee Chapman from Dallas, TX.
She leaves behind 7 Grandchildren Jason Burks, Amanda Burris, Brad Cody, Krista Cody Jackson, Morgan Chapman, Megan Chapman, James Chapman and 13 great grandchildren. Along with a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by husband J R Chapman, parents Herbert & Edith Thompson, and her brother Harold Thompson.
Ellen, as most often referred to as Nanny. She retired from International Power Machine in 1999, where she was a bookkeeper for many years. Ellen and J R were both members of A.A. for over 20 years. They were not just partners in life but partners in business as well were Ellen was the bookkeeper for J.R. Plumbing Company in Dallas TX. Ellen had a long-life passion for corvettes and traveling. She loved her grandchildren and watching them grow.
