Elma Lavon Pounds -- born March 24, 1927 in Cooper, TX and passed away July 15, 2011 in Dallas, TX. Preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Faye Wright; husband, M.C. Pounds; sons, Tommy and Jimmy Pounds; grandson, Thomas Pounds; and brother, Winston Wright. Survived by daughter, Darlene Pounds Yarbrough of CO; son, Steve Pounds and wife, Bonnie of Rockwall; grandchildren, Tim, Chris, and Pennie Pounds and Stephanie Garcia; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rayburn and Harlis Wright; other relatives and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Garland. Visitation will be 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. with family receiving friends and family from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2011 at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
