

She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Bartholomew Kelly, her siblings and her beloved husband Mike Denenberg.
Lys began her career with American Airlines in 1951 as a file clerk and retired in 1991 as a senior systems analyst. At her retirement, she was honored for her commitment and dedication to the company for 40 years of service. She and her late husband Mike travelled the globe together.
Lys was an avid reader, devoted family member and dedicated volunteer whose quiet wisdom and generous spirit prevailed. She served on the board of Temple Emanu El, was a past President of Temple Sisterhood. In 2009, she was honored with the sisterhood “Hall of Fame Award” for her many contributions.
After retirement, Lys gave freely of her time and energy to Jewish Family Service, National Council of Jewish Women and the SPCA. She possessed a special connection with all animals.
Lys is survived by her special daughter Bette Morchower, son-in-law Dr. Gary Morchower and the grandchildren that she adored and was adored by them, Dr. Andrew Morchower and Dr. Karen Morchower, along with many nieces, nephews and close friends.
“Grandma Lys” possessed a quiet dignity, grace and intellect that will be missed by all that knew her. She led by example and was an inspiration to many.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Legacy Willow Bend Memory Care and the Vitas Hospice, nurse Rosemary Engle and Rabbi Michael Cohen for their compassion and support.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 10:00 am at Olan Sanctuary at Temple Emanu El, 8500 Hillcrest Rd., Dallas, Texas.
