Emily Frances Shrum

Emily was born in Dallas, Texas on December 14, 1931, to Jake and Fannie Murphree. She was married to Lester Shrum for 30 years.

Emily worked for Morton Potato Chips for 10 years, then she stayed home and took care of her mother and father. Emily enjoyed playing bingo and visiting with friends. Emily was a member of Westlake Church of Christ.

Emily is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Fannie Murphree, sister Alva Miles, brother Jakey, husband L.D. Shrum and nephew Ronald Miles.

Emily is survived by nieces Cindy Miller (Bill) of Rockwall, Texas and Sharon Bourquin (Arvie) of Forney, Texas, Nephews Michael Miles (Tammy) of Greenville, Texas and Thomas Miles (Sharon) of Mesquite, Texas and 9 great nephews and nieces and 14 great great nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 16 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home at 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas. Graveside will be held Friday, January 17 at 10:00 AM at Grove Hill Cemetery with Ashley Sharkey officiating.
