Emogene Bartles DeFord

Emogene was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 66 years, Harry Alonzo DeFord, two sons, Harry Alonzo DeFord II, Sammy DeFord, two brothers, Jack Bartles and S.M. Bartles, and a sister, Mildred Taylor.

Emogene is survived by her son, John DeFord and Partner, Sandra Tessmer, daughter-in-law, Suzanne DeFord, grandchildren, Jennifer Helbing, Jeff DeFord, and Jason Pilgrim, and several great, grandchildren. Emogene worked in the insurance field in Dallas. When she retired she and her husband, Harry, moved to Cedar Creek Lake where they spent many happy years. Emogene loved all arts and crafts, but her crochet work was exquisite, and the pictures she painted were beautiful. She enjoyed and excelled in any craftwork in which she was involved. Emogene and Harry loved to camp out with friends and she always said that she had fond memories of those camping trips. Emogene was loved by all of her friends and family and she will be missed by all.

Chapel Service will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 3rd at 10:00am.
