Eric Barrera Guerra, 47, passed away on August 6, 2026. Born on July 23, 1979, Eric lived in Dallas, Texas. He will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection—an unforgettable presence whose gentle spirit and loving heart brought light to those who knew him.
As a child, Eric attended school in Rowlett and Farmers Branch. From his earliest years, there was a purity to the way he moved through the world—an innocence that invited others to slow down, notice what mattered, and respond with patience, tenderness, and care.
Eric’s joy was often found in motion and in the simple pleasures that made ordinary days feel special. He loved being on the go, especially in the car, and enjoyed traveling to places such as Las Vegas and Florida. That adventurous pull toward the road reflected a quiet strength—an eagerness to experience life as fully as he could, surrounded by the people who made him feel safe and cherished.
He delighted in car rides and boat rides, loud sounds, and listening to cumbia music. Eric also loved the comfort of familiar favorites: a cold root beer, strawberry milkshakes, banana pudding, and his beloved sour cream enchiladas. These were not just preferences, but small celebrations—moments of happiness that he received with a joyful spirit and shared through the warmth of his presence.
Eric may not have been able to tell others how he felt with words, but he had his own beautiful way of communicating. His laughter, clapping, and love of loud noises were his way of connecting with the people around him—an honest, laughable, and deeply human language that made those near him feel seen. Through him, many learned that love does not always need words; sometimes it is found in a laugh, in clapping, in a familiar sound, or simply in being together.
Above all, Eric loved his mother and his big Guerra family. He cherished time spent together, and he was most at peace when surrounded by those who loved him. The bond he shared with his family stands as part of his legacy: a life defined by devotion, togetherness, and a love that remained steady and strong.
