It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Erick Salinas. A devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, and loyal friend, Erick left this world surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to him.
He is survived by his wife, Gabriela; his children, Erick, Angie, and Manuel; his parents, Mayra and Francisco; and his siblings, Mike, Angel, and Tony. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Mari, and niece, Ximena.
Erick was deeply embraced by his expansive in-law family, who loved him as their own. He is also survived by Gabriela’s grandfather, Ruben; her parents, Manuel and Juany; her sisters, Erica and Rosie; her brothers-in-law, Lorenzo and Michael; and their nieces, Alexis and Anabelle. His presence within this extended family was a blessing, and the bond he shared with them was built on love and years of connection.
Erick was a man of quiet strength, integrity, and unwavering reliability. He worked hard throughout his life to provide for his family and build a better future for those he loved. He was dependable, humble, and always willing to help others. His character left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Erick was the kind of person people could rely on in difficult moments. Honest, direct, and steady, he became a trusted friend and go-to person for help, especially with car troubles and emergencies. If he said he would show up, he did.
He had a way of turning people into family. Friends often described him as more like a brother, someone they grew up with. He also had a natural ability to make people laugh and bring humor into difficult situations. His friends remain an important part of his legacy and continue to carry his memory forward.
He carried a strong sense of compassion for those in need. From a young age, he could not stand to see food go to waste. While working at Church’s Chicken as a teenager, he often shared leftover meals with people experiencing homelessness. That same generosity stayed with him throughout his life.
When Erick was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), he faced it with extraordinary courage. Through months of treatment, hospital stays, and clinical trials, he continued to fight for his family. He was surrounded by love and support throughout that time, and his strength remained steady even in the hardest moments.
Above all else, Erick’s life was centered on his family. He was a devoted husband to Gabriela and a proud father to Erick, Angie, and Manuel. As a father, he emphasized kindness, responsibility, hard work, and generosity. He was deeply proud of his children and believed in their bright futures.
Erick also found joy in simple things—old cars, travel, and especially good food, with a love for seafood and crawfish. He enjoyed new places, good company, and sharing meals with the people he loved. Through his love of travel and everyday life, he built lasting connections wherever he went.
Although our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the time we had with him. His presence, example, and love will remain with us always.
