Ernest Louis Lanicek

The one and only, world famous Zip was born Sep 4, 1938 in Ennis, TX and passed away on Oct 10, 2014 in his home in the company of his caring wife of 57 years Pat and brother Norb. He was the oldest son of the late Ernest and Agnes Lanicek. He is also survived by his sons Rick and Dan, daughters-in-law Julie and Kim, grandchildren Brendan and Sarah, and step-grandson Mike Jungen. Renowned among owners and managers of some of the most celebrated and successful restaurants in Dallas, Ernest travelled all over the world installing kitchen equipment and was handpicked to install the kitchen for a Sheik’s palace in Saudi Arabia. An avid Harley-Davidson owner, for the first time in 23 years he will miss the annual Bike Rally in Sturgis, SD.
