Ernesta Cortaza Brandenburg

Ernesta Cortaza Brandenburg, one month shy of 91' of Quinlan, Texas passed into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2016 after battling congestive heart failure. She was born an only child on July 23. 1925 in Howe, Kentucky,to her loving mother, Virginia F. Boyd and husband Robert Latham Boyd.A loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was preceded in death by her son, Garry Thomas Brandenburg , by her daughter, Trene Bruce and her son, Robert Olin Brandenburg. Survivors include daughter Carol Downing and husband Norman of Bayou Vista, and daughter Virginia Brandenburg of Quinlan. Loving Grandmother of Kris Collier, Terri Constantine, Garry Brandenburg, Jessica Akins, Karen Shelton, Justin Akins and Robert Brandenburg. Proud Great Grandmother of 9 very special great grandchildren. A saint of a woman, giving birth to 5 children in 8 years. She passed on to all of her offspring the endearing qualities of love, passion, independence, kindness, and humor. She gave us all our love of animals, our sense of "self", encouragement when we needed it and "the look" when we needed that. She set a good example for her children, grand and great as well. She had such a loving spirit…kind and giving and she shared that with all she touched.
