

Ernestina Quiroga, age 91, passed away on January 17, 2026, in Dallas, TX. She was born on February 12, 1934, in Dallas, Texas to Francisco and Consuelo Garcia. Ernestina was raised in South Dallas and graduated from Crozier Tech High School in 1952. Ernestina earned her associate’s degree from Eastfield Junior College in 1976.
Ernestina married Jesse Quiroga on May 29,1953, and the couple had 6 children. She was a Claims Manager at Equitable Life, Alpha Data and American General where she worked for many, many years.
In her spare time, Ernestina enjoyed baking, gardening and especially enjoyed being part of the line dancing group at the Harry Stone Recreation Center in Dallas.
Her friends and family will always remember her as a strong feisty woman with a big heart.
Ernestina is survived by her daughter Cynthia Wallace and her husband Dale of The Villages in Florida, sons Jesus Quiroga, Jr. and his wife Geneva of Hurst, Texas, Francisco Quiroga and Mario Quiroga of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Candace Bauer, Michael Wallace and Adam Wallace, Gretchen Vaught, Joseph Vaught, Allison Quiroga, Jesus Quiroga, III and Romy Quiroga and 11 great grandchildren, as well as 4 nieces Terri Stucker, Diana Simone, Kimberly Garcia, Karen Reuland and 1 nephew Michael Hill. Ernestina was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Quiroga, daughter Trini Kirkpatrick and son Jerome Quiroga.
Ernestina's Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 PM. The location is at the La Prada Exhibit Center, 5101 Gus Thomasson, Mesquite, TX, 75150.
