She was born on October 11, 1926 in Dallas, Texas to Eduardo and Maria Concepcion Villarreal. She was preceded in death by her husband Apolinar (Paul) Cruz, her parents Eduardo and Maria Concepcion Villarreal, her son Carlos Cruz, her siblings, Chanito Villarreal, Esther Villarreal, Seferina (Nina) Perez, Eulalio (Lalo) Villarreal and grandsons, Cesar Gamez and Mario Alonzo, Jr. She is survived by daughters, Connie Gamez and husband Edgardo and Lisa Cruz Alonzo, sister, Trinidad (Trini) Guerrero of San Antonio, Texas, Grandchildren, Vanessa Perez, Edmundo R. Cardona and wife Nancy, Carla Cruz and husband Armando, Michael Salas and wife Kristin, Paul Moreno and wife Nancy, Martin Alonzo, Marciano Alonzo, 20 Great Grandchildren, 10 Great Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Always a fashionista, she worked in the fashion industry for 35 years employed with Justin McCarty, Charming Belt, Parkland of Dallas and Randazzo. Not ready for retirement, she found employment with Park Central in North Dallas. While there she was offered employment in the household of Ross Perot, Jr. where she remained for over 30 years. She retired at the age of 92.
A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for over fifty years. She was a member of the Legion of Mary dedicating her time visiting families of the sick.
Visitation will be held at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas 75218 on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM; Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thommasson Road, Dallas 75228 at 11:00 AM on Wednesday October 6, 2021 followed by burial at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas 75220 at 1:00 PM.
