Born and raised in San Antonio, Estella spent her early years raising her children in the city she always held close to her heart. Later, she moved to Dallas, where she continued building a life centered around family, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. One of the many ways Estella showed her love was through her cooking and hospitality. Anyone who walked through her door knew they would be welcomed with warmth and a full heart. Freshly made flour tortillas were almost always on her table, ready for family and friends to spread with homemade refried frijoles and enjoy together. The comforting aroma of warm tortillas filling her home became a cherished memory for those she loved, a simple but powerful reminder of her care and devotion to her family.
Estella embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She loved traveling, especially making trips back to her beloved hometown of San Antonio. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Lotería, shopping, dining out, and spending time at family gatherings and celebrations. In her younger years, she found comfort in reading The Enquirer, watching her favorite novelas, and sitting on her front porch sharing conversations with neighbors, friends, and family.
Music and celebration were woven into the fabric of her life. She loved watching Mexican music programs and concerts on television, often calling her children so they could enjoy the performances together. Whether she was taking a drive, attending a party, or simply spending time with loved ones, Estella found joy in every moment.
During the last year of her life, Estella made her home at Cheyenne Medical Lodge, where she found friendship, companionship, and joy. She loved participating in the many activities offered and rarely missed an opportunity to gather with others. Her warm spirit, sense of humor, and friendly nature allowed her to form many meaningful friendships. The friends and staff who came to know and love her there are deeply saddened by her passing and will fondly remember the happiness she brought to their lives. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the members, residents, and dedicated staff of Cheyenne Medical Lodge for the kindness, friendship, compassion, and exceptional care they provided Estella during her final year.
