It is with broken hearts and sorrow as the Estrada and Salazar Families share the passing of our beloved Esther Estrada Salazar, who at the blessed and loving age of 91, was called home to be with Our Heavenly Father on April 27, 2026, while surrounded by the love, prayers, and presence of her devoted family by her side. There are some losses in life that words can never fully explain, where goodbyes leave a pain so deep within the heart that no amount of time can ever truly erase it. The passing of Esther is one of those heartbreaking moments, where a beautiful and faithful soul whose life was built upon sacrifice, devotion, and unconditional love, has now been called into the eternal peace of Heaven. Though her family takes comfort in knowing she is now resting in the loving arms of Our Lord, the sorrow of her absence is one that will be felt deeply and forever.
Esther Estrada Salazar was born on September 20, 1934, in Mayfield, Texas, and was the cherished and beloved daughter of Roman Estrada and Margarita Perez Estrada. From the very beginning, Esther was a woman whose life would come to be defined by love for God, love for her children, and love for the family that meant absolutely everything to her. She was a woman of quiet strength and gentle grace, one whose presence made others feel safe, comforted, and loved. Esther was a Catholic who faithfully attended St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church. She carried herself with kindness, compassion, and a heart that reflected the love of Christ in the way she cared for others. In times of joy, she gave thanks to God, and in times of hardship, she leaned on Him. Through every season of life, Esther remained steadfast in her faith, and now, that same faith has led her home to the eternal glory she so richly deserves.
Yet even in this deep and heartbreaking sorrow, there is peace in knowing that Esther has now been reunited in Heaven as she entered the gates of Heaven and was welcomed home by her loving parents, Roman and Margarita Estrada; her brother Jesse Estrada Sr and her sister Adelia Guzman, all of whom preceded her in death.
Esther leaves behind to cherish and honor her beautiful life and everlasting memory, her loving daughters and son, Patricia Soto (Rick), Margarita Rojas (Rudy Nerio), David Albert Salazar, her dear sister, Arcelia Soliz; her cherished grandchildren, Victor S Herrera, Rebecca Soto, Kristie Soto, Margarita Soto, David Paul Rojas, and Alex Roman Rojas as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many dear friends, all of whom were blessed to know the warmth of her heart, the kindness of her spirit, and the depth of her love.
The Estrada and Salazar Families humbly extend their heartfelt gratitude and a sincere invitation to all of their loved ones and dear friends to join them as they gather in prayer, remembrance, and love to celebrate the beautiful life of Esther Estrada Salazar, as a Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 4PM until 8PM, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM that same evening at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 3050 N Stemmons Fwy, Dallas, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30pm on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 4015 S Hampton Rd, Dallas, Texas. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
As the family now entrusts Esther into the loving and merciful hands of God, we hold tightly to the promise of our faith, that death is not the end, but the beginning of eternal life. Though we must now walk through the painful valley of grief, we do so with the hope that one glorious day, we will be reunited with Esther once again in Heaven. Until that day comes, she will remain forever loved, forever missed, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
