Esther Treviño Villasana, the radiant heart and matriarch of the Villasana family, passed away on May 24, 2026, just three days after celebrating her 78th birthday. Born on May 21, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, to Senaido and Esther Trevino, Esther lived a life overflowing with love, courage, laughter, and an unshakeable devotion to her family. Her loss leaves a void that cannot be measured — a silence where her voice once guided, comforted, and lifted everyone around her.
She was joyfully married to her spouse, Umberto Albert Villasana, on April 10, 1970, and they were happily married for 56 years.
Esther attended North Dallas High School and graduated in 1966.
Esther was the kind of woman people never forgot. She was a best friend, a confidant, a protector, and the steady center of gravity for her entire family — immediate and extended. She carried generations on her shoulders with grace, humor, and a fierce loyalty that made everyone feel like they belonged to her. She was the one people called for advice, for comfort, for truth, for strength. She was the one who made every person feel like they had a second mother.
At just 19 years old, Esther founded Coiffures by Esther, a business she built from nothing and ran with extraordinary success for 30 years. Her salon was more than a workplace — it was a haven. People came for a haircut but left with confidence, laughter, and the warmth of her presence. She had a gift for making strangers feel like family, and she never forgot where she came from.
After closing her salon, Esther reinvented herself with the same determination that defined her entire life. She entered the life insurance industry, quickly rising to become a top producer for both Modern Woodmen of America and New York Life. Her success was rooted in her sincerity — people trusted her because she was real, because she cared, because she always put others first.
Esther was also instrumental in the success of her family’s businesses, Northwest Insurance Agency and Trinity Insurance Group. She was the quiet force behind every milestone, every risk taken, every dream pursued. She believed in her children and grandchildren with a depth that shaped their lives and futures.
Her greatest joy — the thing that lit her from within — was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She reveled in their accomplishments, celebrated every victory, and carried their struggles as if they were her own. The success of her grandchildren was one of her proudest legacies. Every single one of them is either a college graduate or on the path to becoming one — a testament to the foundation she built, the sacrifices she made, and the belief she instilled in them. She never forgot her own beginnings, and she took immense pride in seeing her family rise.
Esther was the life of every gathering. She loved to dance, to laugh, to enjoy a drink or two with her grandchildren, and to fill every room with joy. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and embraced every moment with a spirit that was both fierce and tender. She taught her family how to celebrate life — and she taught them how to love without limits.
We take comfort in knowing she is now dancing in heaven with her beloved mother and father, her spirit as bright and unstoppable as ever.
Esther is preceded in death by her loving parents, Senaido Trevino and Esther Mata Trevino.
Esther is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Umberto Al Villasana; her children Mark Villasana (Courtney), Eric Todd Villasana (Ximena), and Misty Villasana Alvarado (Manuel); her grandchildren Adelaide Villasana, Charlotte Villasana, Seth Villasana, Mia Villasana, Max Villasana, Alejandra Villasana, Noah Villasana, Andres Veloz, and Jocelyn Verastegui; and her great‑grandchildren Estrella Verastegui and Araceli Verastegui.
She is also survived by her loving siblings Mike Treviño, Rosa Miramontes, and Vivian Mestas, who cherished her deeply and will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
A memorial will be held at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220 on June 2nd from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Funeral services will be held at Calvary Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026, at 1 pm.

The Villasana family wishes to thank all of Esther's siblings, nieces, nephews, and their children for their continued support and love during this most difficult time.
Her absence is felt in every corner of the lives she touched. The sorrow of losing her is immeasurable, because the love she gave was immeasurable. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, joy, and unwavering devotion — a legacy that will continue to shape her family for generations.
“When a mother dies, the world stops making sense for a while. But her love — the love she poured into you every day of her life — becomes the light that guides you forward. A mother’s love does not end. It becomes the place you return to, again and again, for the
rest of your life.”
Rest in peace, dear Mother, and watch over us.
