Eugene Lovato, age 83, was born on May 8, 1942, and passed away peacefully at his home on December 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
In 1963, Eugene married the love of his life, Ernestine Lovato. Together, they shared more than six decades of marriage and raised three children. Eugene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who took great pride in his family. He instilled the values of hard work, faith, love, and togetherness in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eugene will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his beautiful smile — one that could instantly brighten a room. He had a gentle spirit, a kind heart, and a quiet strength that made everyone around him feel welcomed and cared for.
He especially enjoyed fishing by the lake and cherished moments spent laughing and visiting with family. He was also an excellent cook and was known for his homemade desserts, which were lovingly shared at family gatherings and celebrations.
A man of deep faith, Eugene served his church for many years. He held numerous roles, including Head of Social Ministry, Altar Server, and Usher. He also volunteered countless hours at annual fish fries, church carnivals, and other parish activities. He was a proud third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and was honored as Knight of the Year in recognition of his service and dedication.
Eugene is survived by his devoted wife, Ernestine Lovato; his children, Alexander Lovato, Abel Lovato, and Anna Lovato; his grandchildren, Laticha Lovato, Sabel Lovato, Vanessa Ray, Olivia Lovato, Brandon Lovato, Cameron Jones, Alexcia Lovato, Zoe Robertson, and Abel Lovato, Jr.; his great-grandchildren, Andrew Morales, Adrian Morales, Alijah Salinas, Jordan Hillary, Laila Thompson, Skylar Hillary and his great-great-grandchild, Damian Morales; his brothers Carlos Lovato (Helen), Faustino Lovato (Mary), Ernest Lovato (Juanita), Robert Lovato (Letty), his sister, Carmen Lovato and many nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Beatrice Lovato; his brothers, Pedro Lovato, Camello Lovato, and Manuel Lovato; and his sisters, Lucia DeLeon and Angie Buentello.
