Eva Mae Armstrong, 88, passed away on June 14, 2026. Born November 30, 1937, Eva lived a life distinguished by steadfast devotion, quiet excellence, and a compassion that was freely given and deeply felt. A beloved presence to many, she will be remembered with enduring respect and gratitude for the selfless way she cared for others and the inspiring example she set through a life of purpose and kindness.
A proud graduate of Crane High School, Class of 1956, Eva was valedictorian—an early reflection of the steady discipline and purpose that would shape her life. She later graduated from SMU before beginning a distinguished career in accounting. Self-employed as a CPA, she also served as Secretary and Treasurer of Swen R. Swenson Cattle Co., carrying her responsibilities with devotion, care, and a unique excellence that inspired confidence in all who relied on her.
Eva’s life was marked by a generous spirit and a kind-hearted presence—one that offered compassion without hesitation and gave of herself without seeking recognition. She was deeply loved by those who knew her, not only for what she accomplished, but for the steady goodness with which she moved through the world.
A faithful member of Lover’s Lane United Methodist Church, Eva was also a proud member of the sanctuary choir for more than 50 years. Through years of worship and music, she gave her time and voice in a way that reflected both her devotion and her selfless commitment to community.
Eva found joy in reading, playing bridge, quilting, and traveling. Her sense of adventure remained with her throughout her life, and in later years she especially enjoyed attending class reunions, often bringing her daughter, Sharon, alongside her and sharing those meaningful occasions together. Eva is survived by her daughter, Sharon Armstrong of Dallas, TX; and her brother, James C. Miller of Mansfield, TX. She is also survived by her niece, Christie Miller; and her nephews, Tony, Steve, and Jeff Miller, and their spouses and children.
She was preceded in life by her mother and father, as well as her brother, Clarence Miller, his son, Ron, and daughter, Terri of San Marcos, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Lover’s Lane United Methodist Church Sanctuary Choir, SMU, or the Dallas Zoo.
