Eva DeLeon, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in the loving company of family. Born on September 22, 1938, in Harlingen, Texas, Eva marked her 88th birthday the day she joined her heavenly family. Her remarkable life was filled with love, dedication, and service to others, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.
The daughter of Francisco and Teresa Salinas, Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband Maurilio, and her cherished children Alejandro and Jose. Her storied life began when she married Maurilio in 1958, and together they raised seven children, creating a warm and nurturing home filled with laughter and love.
Eva spent much of her career as a daycare teacher, a role that perfectly suited her nurturing spirit and passion for helping others. Her commitment to the children she taught was only matched by her devotion to her faith. A devout Christian, Eva was known for her unwavering kindness and her desire to serve those around her. Her love and compassion were evident in every interaction, touching countless lives throughout her journey.
She is survived by a large and loving family, including her sons Gustavo, Maurilio Jr., Javier, Marco, and daughter Elizabeth; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.
Eva DeLeon will be remembered as a beacon of love and hope, whose spirit will continue to guide those she leaves behind. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart well-loved.
Visitation will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, US, on October 5, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 3030 Gus Thomasson Rd, Dallas, TX 75228, US, on October 6, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220, US, on October 6, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
