Evelyn Maxeline Fields Gambell passed away on September 19, 2019 in Dallas, TX at the age of 100 and 5 months. She was born in Temple, Oklahoma on April 12th, 1919 to Charles Lester Fields Sr and Ethel Flynn Fields. She was the oldest of four siblings; Helen McGaha, Charles Lester Fields Jr, Catherine Fields and Marion Kilgore.
In 1936 her family moved to Dallas. She married Julian “Bill” Gambell, her husband of over 50 years, on March 22, 1947 and they opened a family business called Gambell Printing. They built their home on Loganwood Drive in 1966 and soon after joined First Baptist Church of Urbandale,remaining an active member of the congregation for over 53 years.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Bill, son Jerry Gambell and wife Morine.
Evelyn is survived by her son Rod Oglesby and wife Sandy, grandson Cliff Oglesby, grandson Jerry Gambell and wife Beverly; great-granddaughters Rachel, Taylor and Julia, and grandson Ronny Gambell; great-granddaughter Lauren and great-grandson Jared, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
