Evelyn Johnson was called home at age 67 on August 12, 2023. Evelyn was born on February 28, 1956 in Marshall, TX to Bryan and Willie Belle Brewster. As a young adult, she relocated to Dallas, TX where she would live out her legacy. As a child she attended Oak Hill Baptist Church where she would have been introduced to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Perhaps one of the sweetest encounters with Christ would’ve been her later years at a church service, after being newly diagnosed with Dementia, when she heard the preaching of the gospel and was moved to tears by the power of the Holy Spirit that dwelled inside of her. Under His influence, she went home that day to read her bible with joy shortly before she would lose her ability to read due to Alzheimer’s disease. The joy of the Lord would remain in her until her Heavenly Father called her home to then experience the fullness of joy with Him in Heaven.
Evelyn gave birth to her son Frederick Brewster in 1976 and met her husband, Dennis Johnson Sr. in 1981. They married in 1983. To this union, a son and a daughter were born, Mirachal Williams and Dennis Johnson Jr. Evelyn was employed with The Meadows Elementary School as a Teacher’s Aide and retired after 15 years of service.
Preceding her death are her husband, Dennis Johnson Sr., and her mother and father.
Evelyn leaves to cherish her wonderful memories:
