

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Joseph L. O'Rourke ,Jr. and their baby daughter, Angel; her parents, Joseph Frank Polasek and Louise Adele Kubin Polasek; and her sister, Dorothy Baty.
Evelyn was the eldest of four girls. She excelled in school and graduated from St Edwards Academy two years early at the age of 15. After graduating, she went to work for F.W. Dodge Corporation where she served as a secretary for five years. All her life, Evelyn enjoyed reading mystery stories and cookbooks.
Evelyn met her future husband Joe O'Rourke at a church picnic. He was a contractor with O’Rourke Construction Company working with his grandfather, father and uncle. On May 1, 1948, Evelyn and Joe married at St Edwards Church in Dallas TX. They raised seven wonderful children. Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother.
Evelyn is survived by son Joe O'Rourke III and his wife Laurie of Columbia Falls, MT; daughter Mary Fishback and her husband Bruce of Portland, OR ; daughter Patricia Sutton and her husband Michael of Dallas, TX; daughter Nancy O'Rourke of Dallas, TX; son Michael O'Rourke and his wife Cindy of Dallas, TX; son John O'Rourke and his wife Kathleen of Burleson, TX; and daughter Sharon O'Rourke of Dallas, TX.
Evelyn was blessed with thirteen grandchildren- Ryan , Erin and Rory O'Rourke; Max and Brendan Fishback; David, Gregory and Andrew Sutton ; Michael, Mary Katherine and Margaret O'Rourke; Kellie O'Rourke Renfro and Patrick O'Rourke. She also had four great- granddaughters, Rachel and Leah Sutton, Story O'Rourke and Madison Sutton.
The family of Evelyn O'Rourke would like to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of the staff at Walnut Place Nursing Home , Dallas, TX which was Mother's residence for the past eight years. They provided Mother with compassionate and loving care over the years. Special thanks to Maria Gener, Tafee Mekuria, Yahaddy Riley, Barbara Meikle, Fran Hosseiny, Lensa Fida and Dr. Charles Sledge. They were truly a blessing in Mother’s life.
Also, our sincerest thanks to Father John Edwards who over the past several years has administered the blessings of the Catholic Church to Mother every Sunday as well as times when Mother needed special prayers.
