"EWALD'S MENU"
Chef Scholz was like a mighty oak that swayed with strength and grace.
The Kitchen his core, but all Life his dance floor
--and Life was hard put to keep pace!
A tendency to dream and scheme --all part of the mark of the man.
Classy --even sassy; intense, but not brassy.
And always 'the guy with the plan'.
A Husband, Father, Friend and Chef –for cooking was his 'thing'.
Culinary Preacher, but always a Teacher.
…Fried Parsley and Kartoffelpuffer King!
Then Death cut down the mighty oak amid too much pain and sorrow,
as if so implying, by Ewald's dying
"There'll Never Be A 'Tomorrow' ".
But, though he's gone, his Menu lives on, because of his family and friends.
For, Loving and Laughter can make the disaster
of Death so much less intense.
The Reaper's swift storm may erase the form of the Menu to Life before long.
But Love is victorious, for Love is melodious:
And Ewald's bouquet will live on!
