

Fan Gardner Wiener of Dallas, TX died peacefully in her home on August 20th at age 95. She was born in Jackson, MS on July 8, 1920 to Saidye and Thomas Louis Gardner. Fan married Samson Wiener on March 12, 1939. Fan and Samson made their home and raised their family in the Highland Park area of Dallas. She was an active volunteer and generous supporter of many Dallas institutions including Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Temple Emanu-El, The Dallas Opera and The Dallas Symphony.
Survivors include daughter Nancy Wiener Marcus of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law Tom and Felice Wiener of Wynnewood, PA; grandchildren Gary (Karen) Wiener, Debbie (Eric) Eggleston, Jeff (Mary Kate) Mellow, Allison Goodwin, Todd Goodwin and great grandchildren Sam, Hannah, Eli, Ana and Harrison. She was preceded in death by her husband, granddaughter Lisa Mellow and brother Thomas Louis Gardner, Jr. Fan was devoted to her family who fondly remember the twinkle in her eye and her warm and welcoming home where she joyfully hosted so many wonderful parties for family and friends alike. Fan was admired for her green thumb as well as her needle pointing and knitting. She loved life and was a generous and caring person who enjoyed laughing and getting to know others. She always welcomed others with a smile and cheerful greeting. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, her memory will be a blessing to everyone whose life she touched.
A Memorial Service will be at 12:00 pm on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Temple Emanu-El Olan Sanctuary, 8500 Hillcrest Rd., Dallas, TX 75225. A private family Graveside Service will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Dallas, TX. A Shiva Minyan Service will be at 6:00 pm the day of the funeral at 8523 Thackery St. Dallas 75225.
