

Fay Evelyn Cosgrove, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on February 16, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on May 23, 1929, in Eastland, Texas, to John and Linda Lucille Buckbee. Fay was the firstborn child and had four brothers and two sisters. She was known for her warm heart, energetic - feisty spirit, and infectious laugh.
Fay was married to her late husband, Patrick C. Cosgrove, for 76 years until his passing in 2023. Pat and Fay met on Christmas Day in 1945. Upon Pat's return home from the Navy in 1947, the two quickly married and were rarely ever seen apart. Together, their loving unity built a beautiful family that brought them much joy and laughter.
Fay is preceded by her parents, her husband, Patrick, her four brothers, and her oldest daughter, Janice Ann Cook. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Hulshouser and Joy Jewel, and her three cherished children, Carol Johnson and husband Tim, Mike Cosgrove, and Tony Cosgrove, who will forever remember her nurturing love and wisdom.
Fay was also the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart, as well as her nephews and nieces.
Before retiring to spend more time with family, Fay enjoyed a career at the Army & Air Force Exchange. Fay’s life was a testament to the power of love and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy will live on through the memories she created and the lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 24th, 11:30 a.m. at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the DFW National Cemetery in honor of Fay and her husband.
