Frances Johnson passed away peacefully at home in University Park on December 5, 2012. She was born near Robert Lee, Texas on July 17, 1925 to Ben and Deborah Murphy. Frances was a "stay at home mom" until her children were grown, then she began a successful real estate career in California.
She is survived by her husband or 70 years, Ray E. Johnson, Sr., daughter Marguerite Shineman and husband Gerald, daughter Roy Lynn Johnson McVoy , and son Michael Clifford Johnson. She also leaves nine grandchildren: Tad, Tiffany (Heussner) and Steve Shineman, Hallie McVoy, Ray Cote', McKinzie (Ulberg), Michael, McLain and Mitchell Johnson, 7 great grandchildren: Luke and Kate Shineman, Lucas and Olivia Cote', Chelsea, Carmen and Carissa Porter, sisters: Effie Corley, Muriel Smiley and Dorothy Turner as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Ray E. Johnson, Jr.

Services will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, Friday, December 14, 2012 at 2:00 P.M.
