Born in Dallas, Texas on January 17, 1930, she was the daughter of Alvin and Lena Crosby. Jane graduated from Sunset High School. She met her husband Jim soon after at Kidd Springs Park where he loved to swim and dive. They were married for 61 years. They were members at Tyler Street Church where Jane had first started attending as a young girl. Over the years she worked for Todd Trucking, Ben Franklin, eventually retiring from Army Air Force Exchange Service.
Jane and Jim loved spending time together. Early in their marriage, they bowled in leagues and played bridge. But they always loved to dance and took every opportunity to do so. Jane loved to follow all of the Dallas sports teams, sometimes watching the Mavericks on the television while listening to the Rangers on the radio. On Saturdays she enjoyed meeting her friend Betty for lunch and shopping while the men played golf.
She was not only a loving wife, but also a great mom. She would do anything for her three children: daughter Beverly Jett and husband Rick; daughter Barbara Miller and husband Roy; son John Sellers. She had six grandchildren; Chris Miller and wife Jenny; Stephen Miller and wife Silvana; Kyle Jett and wife Heather; Jenny Kern and husband Mike; Frank Sellers and fiancée Dr. Chelsea Angelocci; and Tiana Sellers. She also leaves behind a legacy in her ten great grand children: Matthew, Nicholas, Liam, Connor, Linde, Lyla, Luke, Nate, Emma, and Genevieve.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Sellers, and sisters Nancy Ostroff and Martha Swindall.
There will be a graveside service on Monday, August 1 at 10:00 am for the family.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.laurellanddallas.com for the Sellers family.
