"Frank" Francisco Cortez Jr., age 70, passed away on February 20, 2020 in DeSoto, Texas. He was born February 18, 1950 in Robstown, Texas to Francisco Sr. and Eduviges Alaniz. Frank was raised in Robstown, Texas, "Huisache" and graduated from Robstown High school in 1970 and went to further his education at Texas A&M University were he received a BBA degree.
He married Mary Alice Santillan in January 7, 1984. He was a Business Consultant and a Chairman of the Board at The National Hispanic Transportation Alliance. He was a leader in the community of Dallas.
In his spare time Frank enjoyed playing with his doggies, Chica, Chula and Choofee. He had a creative side and would do arts and crafts whenever he could. He also liked to travel and go sightseeing. But, above all he loved his family and friends and would keep in touch with them constantly.
His family and friends will always remember him as a charismatic and witty person. He was dedicated and would actively be involved in activities that helped progress and enrich the culture of Hispanics so that they could lead future generations with pride and further their education.
He is preceded in death by: parents, Francisco Sr. and Eduviges A. Cortez; mother-in-law, Lucia S. Cortez; brother, Roy Cortez; sister, Carolina C. Rangel
Survived by: wife, Mary Alice Santillan Cortez; sisters, Josie Cortez Mireles, Ida Cortez Gonzalez and Cindy Cortez Gonzalez; brother-in-laws, Tito Gonzalez and Chris Rangel Sr.; as well as numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
