Hotshot, I can honestly say that the story of West Dallas could not be told if you were not mentioned in it. You were such a compassionate and caring soul. I feel you were sometimes misunderstood at first but you always won people over given the chance! I am thankful you were a part of my hood and I will always call you family. I know God had a golden bicycle in heaven waiting for you! R.I.P. Boss

He always looked out for me and son when we came into the barbershop. Then he would escort us outside and make sure we left safely. Always with a smile.

I remember being a little girl and living across the street from him. Everyday he would come to the kitchen window to watch my mom make tortillas. She would pass him some through the window. He was always around no matter what. We would still my mom Sandra that he was her boyfriend. HOTSHOT, keep watching over Ledbetter and everyone. I know your happy to see your momma and family. Yall are reunited forever and you will be dearly missed. RIH Freddie.

I remember visiting my parents one day on Abilene St.  He was riding on his bike in the middle of the street. I came up behind him and said No Way is that Hot Shot?? I hadn’t seen him in years! I was shocked to see him but it made me giggle as well to see him still riding a bike patrolling the streets. He was well known, he didn’t bother anyone and no one bothered him.  He will be missed! My condolences to his family🤍

My sincere. Condolences  to Freddie's family. Mr. Hot Shot I lived on Peoria and remember you riding your bike for years picking up cans  and getting around Ledbetter in your bike. May you RIP Hot Shot ....

Henry and I have known one another for around 25 years…we also belong to a charitable brotherhood known as the Knights of Columbus.  I met Hot Shot on one visit at Henry’s for a cut and to catch up on current events.  Hot Shot walked in.  My first impression was that he was mean, until the friendly conversation  between two friends started.
Sometimes God places people in our lives like Hot Shot.  Like a pebble that falls into still waters and makes a soft ripple all around, that’s what he did.  

“May the Lord bless you and keep you, may His light shine upon you and give you His peace.  Eternal rest grant unto him.”

Met Freddie many years ago.  He looked mean. But he had the biggest heart in the WORLD. Hung out at the Barber Shop with me. He would go to the store or take out the trash. He was always working or picking up cans, something to earn a dollar. I would always tell him I was going to put him in the TOUR DE FRANCE and put the barber shop name on the back of your shirt. since he was always riding his bike. He loved to go to McDonalds his favorite meal was a Double Meat Quarter Pounder, Large Fries and a Large Vanilla Shake, And that shake machine better be working or he would raise all kinds of Hell. Ledbetter has a new ANGEL in HEAVEN. May you rest in Peace, MY Friend .  You will be  greatly missed at the BARBER SHOP. 

I will always remember you HOTSHOT you always passed my house on Tumalo Trail on your bike never bothered no one.. I always seen you at the bakery working cleaning tables or taking trash out.. you will be truly missed around the neighborhood I promise you that. Now your in heaven with no pain . Fly high HOTSHOT.
