Fredna “Sue” Slaton Alter, born on June 11, 1928 – a vibrant 96-year-old – died peacefully on October 25th at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas. During her brief illness she was surrounded by caring medical personnel, friends and family as she claimed her heavenly resting place.
As a lifelong Dallas resident Sue could name every street and house where she lived during her childhood and took great pride in graduating from Highland Park High School in 1945. She loved everything about Dallas, from great restaurants, museums, and sports teams to shopping! She was a long-standing member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church where she volunteered for many years at the Women’s Exchange in Highland Park Village. Sue was an American Contract Bridge player, avid golfer, world traveler, licensed Interior Designer and had a heart for living life to its fullest every day. Not many could keep up with her zest for life and willingness to try new things! Along with her children and grandchildren, Sue learned to snow ski when she was over 50 years old! She was truly a one of a kind and will be missed by those who knew her well.
